Literary Luncheon with Sarah Braunstein
Friday, April 12, 2013, 11:45am

Sarah Braunstein is the author of The Sweet Relief of Missing Children, an unsettling read that is also strangely compelling, though the author reserves all of her compassion for her characters, sparing none for her readers.  The novel was the winner of the 2012 Maine Literary Award, and was a finalist for the 2011 Flaherty-Dunnan First Novel Prize from the Center for Fiction. In 2010 she was named one of “5 Under 35” fiction writers by the National Book Foundation, and she received a 2007 Rona Jaffe Writer’s Award. Stories and essays have appeared in numerous publications, including AGNI, Ploughshares, The Sun, Nylon Magazine, Maine Magazine, and on NPR’s All Things Considered.  Sarah teaches in the low-residency MFA program at the University of Southern Maine, and is currently a visiting professor at Colby College. She lives in Portland, Maine, and is working on a second novel. The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library plans to feature Sarah Braunstein at its April 12 Literary Luncheon beginning at 11:45 a.m.  Cost of the lunch, provided by Red Cup, is $10.  Please go to the library anytime during their business hours to register.  Sign up early as space is limited.  For more information, call the library at 633-3112.
