Armchair Traveler with Ham and Helen Meserve
Monday, January 07, 2013, 06:30pm

To "Wimbledon Aboard the QE2" with Ham and Helen Meserve
Helen and Hamilton Meserve have had a connection to the Boothbay Region since 1961. After their retirement in 1998, they founded Running Battle Antiques, specializing in 17th and 18th century English oak furniture and 19th century marine paintings. They spent the next 12 years traveling to England on buying trips, and it was then that they established a tradition of attending Wimbledon every June when the big antique shows were held in London. This year, for the first time, the Meserves made their voyage aboard the Queen Mary II. At Wimbledon, they were able to see many great matches on Center Court, plus enjoy wandering the back courts to watch rising young tennis stars. At the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library's first 2013 Armchair Traveler, Ham plans to talk about this trip and what it means to him to see tennis at its best. You are welcome to join us. For more information and to let us know you're coming, contact the library at 633-3112 or email Barb House at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
