Cyber-bullying Information Presentation
Wednesday, November 28, 2012, 07:00pm

Kay Stephens is a Midcoast author whose latest book Cyberslammed: Understand, Prevent, Combat and Transform The Most Common Cyberbullying Tactics, just launched this fall under the sponsorship of Time Warner Cable. Ms. Stephens is scheduled to deliver a one-hour presentation, targeted towards parents and educators of teens in fifth to twelfth grade - at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28 at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library. Touching on each of the six cyberbullying tactics in the book (including sexting and several forms of anonymous aggression), Stephens will demonstrate how to identify each tactic, along with prevention tips from cyberbullying experts, law enforcement, attorneys, and educators. Featured on WCSH Portland's "207" and Time Warner Cable's "Your Magazine," the book is starting to gain statewide attention as an excellent resource in conjunction with Maine's new law requiring all schools to have a formal policy and training on bullying/cyberbullying. Books will also be available for purchase. The public is welcome to attend, but please call the library at 633-3112 to let them know you plan to come.
