Perhaps no war in American history is as overlooked as the War of 1812. Yet with its 200th anniversary, historian and award-winning author George C. Daughan argues that the War of 1812 changed the shape of the world. Mr. Daughan is the author of 1812: The Navy's War. If you are interested in hearing more from George Daughan, he plans to speak at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library's October 12 Literary Luncheon, beginning at 11:45 a.m. The cost for lunch, provided by Red Cup, is $10. Registrations can be made at the library up until Thursday, October 11. For more information, call the library at 633-3112. |
